1. Caution for birds. Three sandhill cranes have taken up to roost in the Aero Club recently and usually stay the winter. They are large grey birds and can be seen walking or flying around the runway and taxiways. They pose a flight hazard mainly during takeoff and landing, as they stay within close proximity to the ground.
2. Caution for tethered balloon. A large balloon tethered to a cable can be found to the South or West of the Aero Club during the equestrian season. The balloon is tethered to a truck and can be moved from farm to farm. It is generally about 300ft in the air and can be as close as a 1/8 mile to the runway.
3. Caution for parachute jumping operations. Parachute jumping operations are in affect during daylight hours during all days. The jump plane takes off and lands from Loxahatchee Airport approximately 3 miles SSW of the Aero Club. Jumpers are released at 10,000 feet AGL and an announcment is made on the Aero Club frequency 122.85.
4. Caution for wet runway and ruts. The landing strip is a turf strip and can be wet from either sprinklers or rain and commonly has ruts at the landing zones and at turn-off points.
